Ubimaldives Policies
Ubimaldives is a non-profit organization dedicated to securing a Universal Basic Income for all Maldivians, ensuring economic security and a more just society. We are committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and accountability in all our operations. The following policies guide our work:
Governance
- Board of Directors: Ubimaldives is governed by a Board of Directors responsible for setting the organization’s strategic direction, ensuring financial oversight, and approving major decisions.
- Decision-Making: Decisions are made by a majority vote of the Board of Directors. Meetings are held regularly and minutes are recorded.
- Executive Director: The Executive Director is responsible for implementing the Board’s decisions and managing the day-to-day operations of Ubimaldives.
Membership

Financial Management
- Expense Approval: All expenses require pre-approval by the Executive Director and another Board member.
- Transparency: Financial records are accessible to Board members and an annual audit is conducted by an accredited external firm.
- Donor Funds: All donations are deposited securely and records are maintained for transparency.
Ethical Standards
- Conflict of Interest: Board members, staff, and volunteers must disclose potential conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from related decision-making.
- Whistleblower Protection: Ubimaldives encourages the reporting of suspected wrongdoing and protects those who do so in good faith from retaliation.
- Code of Conduct: All individuals associated with Ubimaldives are expected to uphold high standards of ethical behavior, professionalism, and respect.
Operations
- Stakeholder Engagement: Ubimaldives prioritizes building collaborative relationships with politicians, civil servants, relevant organizations, and the public to advance understanding of Universal Basic Income.
